Police Kill Armed Robber in Shootout in Delta, Arrest 2 Kidnappers, Recover Stolen Vehicles, Loaded Arms and Ammunition.
Police operatives of the Delta State Command have killed an armed robbery suspect in a shootout in Warri when his gang members who were intercepted during a township patrol, opened fire on the police.
In the ensuing shootout along Warri Garage, the armed robber was killed while other gang members escaped, abandoning their operational vehicle.
In a similar vein, operatives of the Delta State Police Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crimes Squad (SAKCCS), on Friday arrested wanted 2 kidnapping suspects who had been on the run but ran out of luck.
Giving details of the arrests, including the recovery of a stolen vehicles and recovery of loaded arms and ammunition, the Police said, “At about 7pm on Friday, Police anti-crime patrol team attached to ‘A’ division, Warri while on Township patrol along Warri Garage encountered some armed robbers in a Mercedes C Class Benz with registration no. UGH 34 FK.
“The robbers on sighting the police, opened fire and in the process one of the robbers was gunned down while two others escaped.

“Items recovered from the vehicle included one cut to size locally made gun and two expended cartridges, one daggar and women clothes”.
For the nabbed kidnappers, the police said, “On Friday 8th December 2017, at about 2am, sequel to the continual manhunt of some suspects that kidnapped one Mr. Emajemete Peter of no.5 Owusu Str. off Olu Avenue, Ughelli on October 3rd 2017, one Christian Jonathan Akpojotor of Aladja Community, who was previously arrested led SAKCCS detectives to the arrest of another member of the gang, Paul Ifi of Uwheru Community in Ughelli North LGA.
The suspect (Paul) has made a confessional statement of partaking in the said crime and was also identified by the victim but investigation is still ongoing to arrest other members of the gang.
Similarly, on Friday 8th December 2017, at about 8pm, police anti-robbery team while on patrol along Merogun, Warri, encountered some group of boys in a Kia Caren vehicle with registration number EF 171 BEN.
“On sighting the police team, they abandoned the said car and fled. Search conducted on the vehicle led to recovery of one locally made cut to size gun loaded with one live cartridge, 3 ATM cards of GTB, UBA and Diamond bank with other documents.
