Nigeria Security Digest (NSD) is an online newspaper committed to providing news, incisive reports, information and analysis on security, governance and development issues in Nigeria and the world. Fully aware that democracy is impossible without the media, NSD is set not only educate, inform, entertain and enlighten the public, it is positioned to examine government policies, actions, and plans while holding government accountable and assisting it to be more responsive and responsible to the people who bear the weight of its rule or misrule.
While NSD specifically focuses on the activities and developments in the military, security, intelligence and response agencies and their significant roles in protecting and strengthening democracy and development in Nigeria, we are also programmed to collaborate with state and private agencies and organizations from anywhere in the world that mount campaigns against bad governance, corruption in high places, physical abuses and torture, human right violations, socio-economic hardships, exploitation and other forms of man’s inhumanity to man, as well as under- development and other hazards of poverty induced by bad governance.
Nigeria’s national security is not only a function of the government, armed forces, police, intelligence and response agencies; the judiciary, legislature, media, civil society organisations, workers, and the general masses are also involved in one way or the other in the promotion, protection and projection of our national security. Indeed, Nigeria’s national security is the patriotic and sacred project of all Nigerians and Nigeria Security Digest is a partner in progress!
