In continuation of its onslaught on armed robbery and kidnapping gangs terrorizing the Abuja-Kaduna-Minna Highway, Police operatives of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested two deadly Kidnappers operating within Jere/Katari Axis of the Abuja-Kaduna expressway and Jere-Kagarko Road in Kaduna State.
The IRT operatives also recovered 2 AK-47 Rifles and live ammunition and magazines.

Giving details of the arrest, the Police said the ACP Abba Kyari led IRT, on Sunday 17th December 2017 at about 9.30pm swooped on the 2 deadly kidnappers who had been on Police wanted list, as part of operations of Absolute Sanity along Abuja-Kaduna Express.
“The operatives recovered 2 AK-47 Rifles with Serial no 5390 and 25401 respectively and 135 rounds of live ammunition.
“The Kidnappers who were arrested with bullet wound after a gun battle with IRT operatives are Adamu Lawan 30yrs and Aminu Lawan 25yrs.
“They confessed to several kidnappings along Abuja-Kaduna express way and Jere-Kagarko Road all in Kaduna State.
The police added that serious efforts to arrest more gang members are in progress.
