Special Police Operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (YRT), the Counter-Terrorist Unit and Kaduna State Police Command, in the early hours of Saturday Morning, rescued the two Americans and two Canadians, kidnapped along the Abuja Kaduna Road last week.

The 4 rescued foreigners who were said to be fairly okay after the rescue efforts, have been brought back to Abuja and handed over to the American Embassy for medical attention.

The Police said that two members of the kidnapping gang were arrested during the operation adding that serious efforts are on to nab other members of the gang.

A Police Statement said, “Combined Teams of IRT, CTU and Kaduna Police all deployed by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris have rescued the 2 white men and one white woman and one other white man kidnapped.

“The 2 Americans and 2 Canadian citizens in fairly good health conditions around 7.30am today (Saturday) 20/1/2018 and handed them over to the American Embassy in Abuja for medical attention and other immediate needs.

“2 of the kidnappers were arrested and serious efforts to arrest remaining gang members are in progress.

The Police named the rescued victims as Nate Vangeet, Male (Canadian), John kirlin, Male (USA), Rachel Kelley, Female (Canadian), and Dean Slocum, Male (USA).

The foreigners were kidnapped at the Kagarko section of the Abuja-Kagarko-Kaduna Road.
