The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Okwudili Fidelis Azinta has tasked soldiers of the Division to be security conscious all the times.
The GOC gave this charge while addressing soldiers at 2 Division Garrison Parade Ground, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan.
Major General Azinta used the forum to commend the troops for the sacrifices and dedicated service they have been rendering to the nation, adding that their sacrifices will never be in vain.
The GOC urged them not to use their uniforms to intimidate civilians or extort money from people.
He appealed to the troops not to put on uniform any time they go to town, except when on duty.
He also used the opportunity to implore the soldiers to develop good relationship with the police, adding that they should not allow themselves to be used by civilians as dept collectors.
He said they should be contented with their salaries promising that promised that their welfare will be given priority attention.
