Lake Chad: Landmine Kills 13 Chadian Soldiers
Chadian soldiers on patrol in the volatile Lake Chad province encountered landmines buried by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on Wednesday.

The soldiers were part of a convoy of three army vehicles on patrol in the area.
According to AFP One of the fatalities of the mine incident in Kalam located five kilometres from the Nigerian border was a commander in the Gendarmerie,
AFP also reported that Chadian troops exchanged gunfire with Jihadists in Bakaram, in the same region.
President Deby launched an offensive against Boko Haram in March, after an attack by the group killed 98 soldiers in their base at Bohoma, on the banks of Lake Chad.
In neighbouring Nigeria, ISWAP ambushed soldiers on Tuesday at Bulabulin in Damboa Local government Area, Borno State. At least twenty-three soldiers were killed and two injured in the ambush, according to multiple accounts.
