Excitement as kids’ Taekwando Championship Holds in Abuja
Over 70 kids drawn from various age categories sweated it out with each other at the 1st In-house Taekwando Pumsey championship which took place in Kubwa, Abuja a fortnight ago.
Organized by Beegee Taekwando Academy, the championship which was first of its kind in Abuja was full of excitement as spectators including parents, school authorities and keen followers of the game of Taekwando were all held spell bound by the thrilling performances of the kids.

Providing background to the championship, the Coach and organizer of the championship, George Ben, said the whole idea of the competition is to catch them young. He said, “The championship is geared towards raising kid champions who will fly the flag of the nation in any Taekwando competition around the world; this is apart from the physical and health benefit for the kids”. According to him, Beegee Taekwando Academy is determined and committed towards ensuring that the kids become physically and mentally fit and ready to take on the world.
The Championship which took place on 21 November 2020 at the Beegee Taekwando Academy, Mountain View Resort, Arab Road, Kubwa Abuja, had the age categories of 5-6 years (boys and girls), 10 – 12 years and 13 – 15 years (boys and girls). According to George Ben, the championship will be a yearly affair and the standard will only keep improving until champions begin to emerge from the competition. Coach George Ben advised parents to take advantage of this opportunity by enrolling their kids with the Beegee Taekwando Academy, Kubwa Abuja.
