Gen Attahiru Assures Troops of Robust Welfare Packages

In continuation of his Operational visits to the Theatre of Operations in the North East Region, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).Major General Ibrahim Attahiru today 8th February 2021 visited Special Army Super Camp 1 Ngamdu in Borno State.
According to Brig Gen Mohammed Yerima who was privy to the operational visit, the Chief was briefed by the Sector Commander, Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General OO Oluyede, on the successes and achievement so far recorded since the commencement of Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO within Sector 2 OPLD Area of Responsibility as well the readiness of the troops and equipment in the Sector.

Gen Attahiru while addressing the troops commended them for their loyalty and doggedness in the ongoing fight against Insurgency in the North East. He assured them of his support and robust welfare packages to boost their morale as they continue the war against insurgency.
While addressing newsmen, the COAS said the emphasis now is on military effectiveness in order to bring the war on insurgency to an end. He said the Nigeria Army is willing to work with Cameroon and other neighboring countries including Chad in order to ensure the total annihilation of Boko Haram in Nigeria as quickly as possible. He said, “The effort is not just in the north east theater, as we are working assiduously across Nigeria to make sure that troops do their works properly in order to ensure that insecurity will be a thing of the past in Nigeria”.
He also extended greetings from the President and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari to troops.
The newly appointed Chief of Army Staff embarked on operational visits to the north east ostensibly to familiarize himself with the status of operations in the war against insurgency in the area.
