Buratai Bags Lifetime Achievement Award in Lagos

Former Chief of Army Staff and Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt-Gen. Tukur Yusuf Burutai, was Sunday in Lagos given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Global Excellence magazine.

Publisher of the magazine, Mayor Akinpelu, said his medium selected Buratai for his numerous contributions to the social, security and economic development of Nigeria.

Buratai, currently in Benin Republic as Nigerian Ambassador, was represented at the event by Lt-Gen Lamidi Adeosun (rtd).

The colourful ceremony was attended by His Excellency, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd), former Chief of Army Staff and now Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Benin Republic, ably represented by Lieutenant General Lamidi O. Adeosun (rtd).

At the event was His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Hammed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun III, the Oluwu of Kuta Kingdom, Osun State.
Another royalty, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adesegun Bolaji Alowonle, the Elemuren of EmurenLand in Remo, Ogun State.
Also at the event were Commodore Mathew Bolaji Teidi (rtd) Chairman of 29 Regular Course (of Nigerian Defence Academy) Foundation and Brigadier General CS Uwah (rtd), mni, member of 29 Regular Course Foundation.

From the maritime industry was Alhaji Mohammed Malgwi, Director (General Services), Nigerian Shippers Council.
Also from the military was Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd) mni, former Director Army Public Relations.
Honourable Taofeek Masha, SSA to Honourable Minister of Interior was also present.

The media industry had Mr Collins Edomaruse, publisher, Metrowatch online newspaper and deputy general secretary, Guild of Corporate Online Publishers of Nigeria (GOCOP) and Alhaji Bashir Ibrahim Idris, Editor-in-Chief of Radio France International Hausa Service, represented by Ahmed Abba.
