The Minister of Defence Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd) has received the news of the death of the Former Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Muhammadu Inuwa Wushishi with utmost rude shock.
A statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Defence on Media and Publicity, Mohammed Abdulkadri, on Sunday said General Magashi’s immediate reaction to the death of the Second Republic Chief of Army Staff from 1981 to 1983 was that of deep sense of loss and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah that took him away at a ripe age of 81.
He described his death as a monumental loss to the nation’s Armed Forces in particular and the nation at large.

“While condoling the immediate and the extended families of the Late Lt Gen Wushishi, he urged them to take Solace in the Almighty Allah who Giveth and Taketh at the appointed time and place which he said is beyond human controls, calculations and comprehensions”.
The Defence Minister noted that the fact that he lived a fulfilled life in service to God, the country and humanity in general are enough consolations to return absolute thanks to Almighty Allah by saying Alhamdulilahi.
He therefore pray to God to accept the return of Lt Gen Wushishi into aljannat Fridaus and to grant the family, the Military constituency and indeed the Nation the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss of a fine gentleman officer whose wise Counsel, experience and expertise will be missed in the quest to end insecurity bedeviling parts of the Country.
