ABU VC, Prof Kabir Bala | Mohammad Abdulkadri receiving award from CDS, Gen Irabor
The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Kabir Bala, has described the Special Assistant to Gen. Bashir Salihi Magashi, the Defense Minister, Mohammed Abdulkadri, as a worthy alumnus of the institution.
The VC stated this in a congratulatory message sent to the Minister’s aide over the award of excellence presented to him by the Chief of Defense Staff recently, copy made available to ROYAL NEWS.
The Award which was conferred on Mr. Abdulkadir by Gen. Irabor recognized his relentless efforts to counter terrorism operations of the Nigerian troops as a Defence Correspondent at Nigerian Television Authority.

While pledging the continuous support of the University to Mr. Abdulkadir, Professor Bala said the University was looking at possible ways in having meaning cooperation with the Ministry of Defence.
Mr. Abdulkadir before now has also won the Chief of Army Staff Gallantry Award received in 2016 in Gusau, Zamfara State during the Nigerian Army Day Celebration.
Other awards include National Union of Journalists, NUJ, National Headquarters award in 2019, NUJ Edo State Council Award in 2016, NUJ Kwara State Council Award 2021, Methodist Church Nigeria Headquarters, Lagos, as most outstanding War Correspondent in 2019 among others.
