Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists kills two security personnel in Molai near Maiduguri

Boko Haram/ Islamic State of the West African Province(ISWAP), on Monday attacked a military formation in Molai general area of near Maiduguri, killing two security personnel, Zagazola Learnt.

It was gathered that large number of suspected Boko Haram elements in assorted vehicles and motorcycles armed with sophisticated weapons invaded the security check points manned by joint task force Operation Hadin Kai comprising of military and Mobile Police Men from 30/50 PMF.

An Intelligence Officer told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert that a sporadic gunshots rocked the area in the attack which started at about 1800hourz, forced many residents of Lawanti Kura, NNPC Depot and Molai scampered for safety.

He said “After a fierce battle, one soldier (name unknown), one Sergent Babangida Yusuf of 50 PMF were killed in action while one Inspector Chindo Samuel sustained injury.

The sources added that one military gun truck and military ambulance were carter away by the terrorists. They were later burnt and abandoned fled away on arrival of the military air support”, said the sources.

Molai is situated along Maiduguri-Damboa- Road which is about 10km drive to the restive North East Capital of Maiduguri.

The attack came less than 24 hours after the Islamic State spokesman Abu Umar al-Muhajir announced on April 17, that it would launched attacks in retaliation to the assassination of its leader and his speaker across the world.
