Troops sustain offensive operations in North West, neutralize six bandits in separate encounter

The Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have eliminated six bandits in a separate encounter in the Nigeria’s Northwest states of Zamfara and Katsina.
The operation was carried out on Thursday July 20, 2023, when the troops of Sect 1, Foward Operational Base, Faru laid an ambush against the bandits at Bagabuzu crossing point located between the Maradun amd Talatan Mafara axis.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that the troops successfully neutrialised two bandits and recovered one GPMG rifle, one Ak 47 rifle as well as some quantities of 7.62mm NATA ammunition.

In a separate encounter, troops of Sector 2, Team 9, Batsari, working under the same auspices of Operation Hadarin Daji, while on fighting patrol, made contact with bandits at Gobirawa Garin Ruji general area in Batsari LGA of Katsina State and eliminated four bandits and recovered their weapons.
Meanwhile, the troops of Sect 3, in Tureta in conjunction with troops of Sect 1 Team 4 conducted clearance Operations around Tureta general area in Sokoto State.
The troops successfully cleared the Dantulu Hill general area. They proceeded further to clear a bandits camp at Rafin Lalu forest. On sighting the advancing troops, the bandits took to their heels, leaving behind four motorcycles which was later destroyed by the troops.
Military sources said the clearance operation was in continuation of its offensive counter-insurgency operations in a bid to rid the areas of all terror bandits
