War on Terror: Troops eliminate unconfirmed number of ISWAP terrorists in Kareto

The Nigerian troops of 146 Battalion Operation Hadin Kai deployed at Damasak on Monday, neuturalizing unconfirmed numbers of ISWAP fighters.
It was gathered that the troops who were on fighting patrol in the general ambushed the terrorists and neutrialised them after a heavy gun battle while others escaped with bullet wounds.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation followed credible information on the presence of ISWAP terrorists around the Kareto general area in Mobbar LGA.
The sources said that the operation was carried out after the firefight towards the terrorists withdrawal route during the exploration, it was discovered that there were several signs of evacuated bodies with traces of blood while one of them was left behind.
The troops also recovered some Ak47 rifles and ammunition, while there were no casualties on the side of the troops.
