NAF Boosts Cybersecurity Measures to Protect National Defence

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cybersecurity as a vital component of its operational readiness.

This move is in line with the Federal government’s efforts to prioritize cybernetics in national defense and security.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, highlighted this today in Abuja during the inauguration of the Cybersecurity Awareness Training.

He recognizes the destructive potential of cyber threats, comparable to physical warfare, and emphasizes the need for vigilance in protecting critical systems.

The CAS charged personnel to treat cybersecurity as a shared duty, adopting proactive measures at all operational levels.

Earlier, the Chief of Communications and Information Systems, Air Vice Marshal SK Usman, highlighted the training’s importance in safeguarding Nigeria’s digital and operational security.

He noted the sophistication of modern cyber threats emphasized that protecting the nation extends beyond securing airspace to safeguarding essential data and communication networks critical to mission success.
