How NAF’s precision airstrikes neutralised over 35 terrorists near Nigeria–Cameroon border

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive against insurgents in the North East, neutralising more than 35 terrorists in a coordinated air interdiction near the Nigeria–Cameroon border.
The operation, conducted in the early hours of Saturday, 23 August 2025, was carried out under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) following an attempted attack on ground troops at Kumshe. Multiple intelligence sources revealed that terrorists had converged at four assembly points in preparation for the assault. Acting swiftly, the Air Component launched successive precision strikes that decimated the fighters and disrupted their movement.
According to military authorities, communication was later restored with ground troops who confirmed that the situation around their position had been stabilised after the air strikes.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, praised the professionalism and courage of the aircrew, reaffirming that the NAF would sustain aggressive, intelligence-driven operations in support of ground forces. He noted that the mission underscored the NAF’s resolve to deny terrorists freedom of action and dismantle their logistics and operational corridors along Nigeria’s border regions.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, in a statement, reiterated NAF’s commitment to working in close coordination with other security forces to ensure the total degradation of terrorist elements threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty.
