Shock as Troops Intercept ‘Massive Terrorist Logistics Cache’ in Yobe State
Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have dealt a major blow to terrorist supply networks with the interception of a massive cache of logistics concealed in a trailer in Yobe State.
The operation, carried out under Operation DESERT SANITY IV, took place on 16 September 2025 along the Nguru–Gashua road. Acting on credible intelligence, troops conducting snap checks at about 7:40 a.m. stopped a red 14-tyre trailer loaded with suspicious consignments. The vehicle was moved to a secured location where it was carefully offloaded and inspected.

The search uncovered 700 bags of NPK 20:10:10 fertilizer, a key component in the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 27 cartons of assorted drugs, and nine cartons of normal saline solution, all cleverly concealed beneath bundles of fabric.
Military sources revealed that the consignment was marked for onward movement to Niger Republic, pointing to the existence of cross-border terrorist supply networks.
The breakthrough came hours after another successful interception on the same axis at about 10:30 a.m., when troops stopped two Sharon buses and another trailer carrying large quantities of fabrics and solar panels. Intelligence reports indicated that terrorists planned to use the fabrics for the production of uniforms for their fighters.
All drivers, motor boys, and the recovered items are currently in custody, while investigations are underway to track down the identified consignees and consignors.
The Theatre Command reassured the public that troops remain vigilant and committed to cutting off all terrorist supply lines in the region. Members of the public were also urged to continue providing timely information to aid ongoing operations.
Meanwhile, the Military High Command has commended the troops for their vigilance and impressive operational performance in the counter-terrorism campaign.
