Defence Intelligence College Graduates Pioneer Participants of VIP Protection Course
The Defence Intelligence College graduated twenty-seven pioneer participants of the VIP Protection Course 01/26 on 6 March 2026, marking a significant step in strengthening professional protective security operations in Nigeria.
The participants, drawn from the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), underwent intensive inter-agency training focused on executive protection and protective intelligence.

The course covered key areas including risk assessment, intelligence gathering, advance route/movement planning, threat detection, protective formations, and emergency extraction procedures, thereby equipping the graduates with the requisite skills to protect high-value individuals and critical assets in both routine and high-risk environments.
The graduation highlights the College’s commitment to developing highly skilled security personnel and promoting inter-agency collaboration in addressing evolving security challenges and safeguarding national interests.
In his address, the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Akomaye Parker Undiandeye, emphasized that the security landscape is becoming more complex and unpredictable, hence urged the graduates to embrace innovations and adaptability in their roles as protection professionals.
The Commandant of the Defence Intelligence College, Commodore Usman Bugaje, emphasized that the roles of the graduates in ensuring the safety and security of their principals or other high-profile individuals is of utmost importance.
He urged the graduates to always uphold the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
