Troops arrest suspected ISWAP member in Damboa
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 6:30 p.m. on March 18 by troops of 25 Brigade in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), following intelligence on a suspicious phone conversation between him and another suspected terrorist.
The sources added that the suspect, who resides within the Damboa general area, confessed during preliminary interrogation to being member of ISWAP who claimed to have disengaged from active operations.
The suspect and his mobile phone are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
Military authorities said troops will continue intelligence-driven operations to track and dismantle terrorist cells in the region.
