Troops neutralise two terrorists, destroy camps in Zamfara

Troops of 1 Operation FANSAN YANMA have neutralised two terrorists during a fighting patrol in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Security sources said the troops responded to reports of terrorist activities around Maradun and Gidan Dan Jaja communities at about 1:00 p.m. on May 27.

According to the sources, the troops made contact with the terrorists during the operation and overpowered them in the ensuing exchange.
The sources added that two terrorists were neutralised during the encounter.
Items recovered from the scene included two locally fabricated rifles and four motorcycles.
The troops also destroyed identified terrorist camps within the area as part of the operation.
