Troops Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Victim in Zamfara

Troops of the 1 Brigade deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Moriki have foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued one victim in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:04 a.m. on July 15 at Barza Village, Sabon Garri Moriki, where troops responded swiftly to a kidnapping incident.
The troops successfully disrupted the operation of the suspected kidnappers and rescued the victim unharmed.
The kidnappers fled the scene following the intervention of the troops, while security forces have intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks in the area.
The operation is part of ongoing military efforts to combat banditry and kidnapping across Zamfara State and the wider North-West.
