OPHK Troops Intercept Terrorist Logistics, Arrest Two Suspects in Yobe
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have arrested two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and recovered a large consignment of motorcycle spare parts allegedly destined for Boko Haram/ISWAP elements operating within the Yunusari-Mobbar axis of Yobe State.
The suspects were apprehended on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, following credible human intelligence indicating the movement of logistics supplies believed to be intended for terrorist operatives in the North East.
Acting on the intelligence, troops of 159 Battalion, Sector 2 OPHK, in conjunction with other security elements, mobilised a fighting patrol and intercepted the suspected logistics consignment at Gumsa Bridge in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Among the items recovered were large quantities of motorcycle tyres, crankshafts, oil seals, traffic indicators, acceleration and clutch cables, bearings, brake components, gaskets, piston kits, chains and sprockets, speedometers, clutch plates, rocker arms, CDI units, coils, rectifiers and fuel-related components.

The troops also recovered 145 pairs of footwear and two Tecno Android mobile phones, among other items.
The military said the recovered items were suspected to be part of a logistics supply chain supporting terrorist activities in the theatre, where motorcycles remain an important means of mobility for terrorist elements operating in difficult terrain.
The two suspects, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to the 27 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation and necessary action.
The interception underscores the importance of intelligence-led operations in disrupting the supply networks that enable terrorist groups to sustain their activities, particularly through the procurement and movement of spare parts and other essential materials.
The Joint Task Force said OPHK remains committed to dismantling terrorist support networks across the North East Theatre and urged members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to security agencies.
The task force emphasised that sustained cooperation between communities and security forces remains critical to degrading the operational and logistical capabilities of terrorist groups in the region.
