Nigerian troops have arrested suspected collaborators of armed bandits operating in the North-West, as security forces intensify efforts to dismantle the support networks aiding criminal groups in the region.

A security source said the suspects were apprehended by troops during recent operations and subsequently subjected to interrogation to obtain intelligence on the activities, movements and hideouts of the bandits.

According to the source, the information obtained from the suspects is expected to assist troops in identifying other members of the criminal networks and disrupting their operations across the affected areas.

The source added that one of the wanted bandit figures, Kachalla Maha, remains a target of ongoing security operations, with troops continuing efforts to track him and other members of his network.
