The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, says it has deployed a detachment of Special Forces to Kaduna to beef up internal security in the state.

Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, made this known in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Mr Daramola said the move was in addition to the earlier deployment of two helicopters and a DA-42 Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance, ISR aircraft on October 22, being used in conducting aerial patrols over flash points in the state.

“The detachment will join other NAF personnel in Kaduna and other security agencies to ensure that the spate of senseless killings in some parts of the state is brought to a complete end and normalcy expeditiously restored,” he said.

The latest Kaduna violence broke out on October 20, at Kasuwan Magani in Kujama Local Government Area of the state, and later spread to parts of Kaduna metropolis where government imposed a state of emergency.
