The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai has inspected ongoing manufacture and repairs/overhaul of combat vehicles including Armoured Personnel Carriers and mine resistant anti Ambush Protected Vehicles at the 107 Div Equipment Support in Maimalari Barracks, Maiduguri on Saturday the 30th of May 2020.
According to a statement released by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa, Gen Buratai who is in the North East Theatre of Operation since early April this year leading the fight against terrorism, was accompanied by the Chief of Training and Operations (Army), Theatre Commander Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Chief of Logistics (Army), Chief of military intelligence and the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division among others.
The Nigerian Army under the leadership of Gen Buratai has relied heavily on local manufacture, refurbishment and general overhaul of combat vehicles to prosecute the war on terror ongoing in the north east and other internal security operations across the country.
It will be recalled that the Army some months ago unveiled one of its locally manufacture Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, named EZUGWU MRAP armoured vehicle. The EZUGWU MRAP armoured vehicles’s first assignment is to finish up the remaining Bomo Haram and ISWAP elements.
