Concern as EndSARS Protesters Launch ‘Online Radio’, Live Podcast

Protesters calling for an end to police brutality in Nigeria have launched 24/7 online radio, Soro Soke, but called it a live podcast.

The protesters say the ‘radio’ aims at coordinating the protest nationwide and communicating developments.

At around 4:50 when HumAngle tuned in to the live podcast and presenters were heard stressing that the protest shall remain peaceful.

“These protests are peaceful. We don’t encourage violence,” emphasised the presenter.

The radio also has a Twitter account, @SoroSoke247 where the account handlers tweet and retweet on issues related to the ongoing protest.

The bio of the Twitter account says Soro Soke is not a radio but a live podcast.

“We are for a better nation powered by value for life and good governance,” the Twitter bio reads.

Security experts however expressed worry over the development as such unauthorised broadcast could easily breach the national security. it remains to be seen the reaction of government to the development.
