NAF Invites Youths to Drive Innovation Through CAS Literary Competition
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has called on Nigerian youths to harness their creativity and intellectual capacity to contribute innovative ideas that can shape the future of air operations, as part of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Literary Competition for the 2025/2026 cycle.
According to a statement from Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, the competition, which commenced on 21 November 2025, will run until 28 February 2026. It is designed to promote youth engagement, informed advocacy and innovative thinking, while nurturing talents capable of contributing meaningfully to national development and security.
The initiative, introduced at the instance of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, provides a platform for young Nigerians to articulate ideas, perspectives and creative interpretations on contemporary security and technology-related issues.

Through the competition, the NAF seeks to stimulate critical thinking, deepen interest in emerging technologies and foster a culture of innovation aligned with the evolving demands of modern airpower.
The CAS Literary Competition will be conducted in three categories: Essay, Art and Poetry, allowing participants to engage the central theme through analytical writing and creative visual expression.
The theme for this edition, “Optimising Emerging Technologies for Enhanced Air Operations,” reflects the NAF’s strategic focus on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance operational effectiveness, improve mission outcomes and prepare for future security challenges in an increasingly complex operational environment.
Beyond its competitive elements, the initiative is also aimed at strengthening civil–military relations and empowering young Nigerians to see themselves as key stakeholders in national security and technological advancement.
It underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to inclusive engagement, intellectual development and the generation of forward-looking ideas to support effective and future-ready air operations.
