Troops arrest three suspects, recover arms in Benue patrol
Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested three suspects and recovered arms and ammunition during a fighting patrol in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
A military source said the troops, deployed at Zongo-Akiki, carried out the operation on March 26 following intelligence on suspected terrorist enclaves in Tse Utsaha and Agasha communities.

The source disclosed that the patrol, conducted at about 8:34 a.m., led to the arrest of three suspects at the identified locations.
“During the operation, troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, two AK magazines, and 27 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition,” the source said.
He added that one mobile phone and other sundry items were also recovered from the suspects.
According to him, the suspects and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
