Troops arrest two suspects over arms smuggling, kidnapping in Nasarawa

Troops of Sector 2 under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with local residents, have arrested two suspects linked to arms smuggling and kidnapping activities in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Security sources said the suspects were apprehended at about 8:30 p.m. on April 14 at Gidan Mutum Daya general area in Karshi.

According to the sources, the arrest followed credible intelligence on the suspects’ involvement in criminal activities within the area.
Items recovered from the suspects include the sum of ₦11,550, three mobile phones, and other sundry items.
The sources added that the suspects and recovered items have been handed over to the Guards Brigade Provost Group for further investigation and necessary action.
Security agencies have reiterated their commitment to tackling criminal networks and ensuring safety across the state.
