Troops arrest suspected criminal accused of support to kidnapping and militia gangs operating in Bassa Plateau

Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a 27-year-old suspected criminal logistician accused of supplying support services to kidnapping and militia gangs operating in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect, identified as Kabiru Usman, was arrested at about 7:15 p.m. on May 21 following credible intelligence from informants.

The sources said the troops intercepted the suspect along the road near Dong-Rantya Roundabout while he was returning from the Bukuru cattle market.
According to the sources, the suspect allegedly specialises in buying and selling stolen items, including motorcycles and mobile phones, looted during kidnapping operations and criminal attacks within the area.
The military said the suspect was currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The sources added that the security situation within the area of responsibility remained calm, while troops sustained high morale and operational efficiency.
