360 Rescued Captives Reunite with Families in Ngoshe as Community Hails Military Operation

Emotional scenes played out in Ngoshe community of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State as victims recently rescued from terrorist captivity were reunited with their families following a joint military rescue operation.
The convoy conveying the rescued persons arrived at the Ngoshe Temporary Camp at about 1:20 p.m. on June 7 and was received by community leaders, family members and jubilant residents.
Stakeholders of the community, led by Prof. Sulaiman Bello, welcomed the returnees and commended the military for the successful rescue operation.
The Commander of the 26 Task Force Brigade addressed the gathering and reassured residents of the military’s commitment to safeguarding communities across the North-East.

“The military remains unwavering in its commitment to the security of the people and will continue to pursue its mandate until lasting peace and stability are restored across the region,” the commander was quoted as saying.
He also urged residents to continue supporting ongoing security efforts through cooperation and the provision of credible information.
In his remarks, Prof. Bello expressed appreciation to the military and other security agencies for securing the freedom of the captives and facilitating their safe return to the community.
He reaffirmed the commitment of community stakeholders to supporting security initiatives and the ongoing efforts toward the full resettlement and rebuilding of Ngoshe community.
The military commander later held a meeting with community stakeholders and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), where he stressed the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining peace, security and stability within the area.
The reunion followed a recent special rescue operation conducted by troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security partners, which led to the rescue of scores of women and children held in terrorist captivity.
Military authorities said the operation underscored the continued determination of security forces to rescue abducted persons, dismantle terrorist networks and create conditions for the safe return of displaced communities.
