Troops Repel Terrorists During Patrol in Kaduna, Recover Motorcycle

Troops of Headquarters Sub-Sector 6, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have engaged suspected terrorists during a patrol operation in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on June 23 while the troops were conducting a routine patrol in the area.

The sources said the patrol team encountered two armed terrorists riding on motorcycles and fleeing towards Basurfe Village.
According to the sources, the troops immediately engaged the suspects, forcing them to abandon one of the motorcycles and flee into a nearby valley.
The recovered motorcycle was secured by the troops, while efforts were ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects.
The sources added that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to deny terrorists freedom of movement and enhance security across communities in Giwa Local Government Area.
They reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to sustaining offensive operations against terrorist and criminal elements in Kaduna State and the wider North-West region.
