NAF Hosts Beninese Military Officers, Deepens Regional Defence Cooperation
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regional security cooperation with neighbouring countries as it hosted participants of Course 22 from the Beninese National Military School at its Headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation, comprising senior military officers undergoing staff training in the Republic of Benin, was received on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday K. Aneke, by the Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal N. N. Ananaba.
The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to enhance military diplomacy and foster stronger professional relationships between the armed forces of both countries. It also provided an opportunity for the visiting officers to gain insights into the operational and strategic activities of the Nigerian Air Force.

Speaking during the engagement, Air Vice Marshal Ananaba conveyed the goodwill of the Chief of the Air Staff and underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among regional militaries in addressing emerging security threats.
The visit highlighted the growing defence partnership between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin, reflecting the shared commitment of both nations to strengthening military ties and enhancing collective responses to transnational security challenges in the West African sub-region.
Defence cooperation between the two countries has continued to gain momentum in recent years, particularly in areas of intelligence sharing, capacity building, joint training, and coordinated efforts aimed at combating terrorism, banditry, piracy, and other cross-border criminal activities.
The visit by the Beninese officers is expected to further deepen mutual understanding, strengthen professional military networks, and contribute to regional peace, stability, and security.
