Determined to make life unbearable for human traffickers of persons in the country, operatives of the National Agency for Prohibition of Persons (NAPTIP), on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, stormed the Gwagwalada hideout of a human trafficking ring and rescued fourteen (14) under aged girls.
The 14 girls were already earmarked for movement to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja from where they are to be flown to Saudi Arabia and Dubai for prostitution when the NAPTIP operatives struck.
The operation followed days of surveillance mounted by operatives of the agency after intelligence on the suspected movement of the girls for trafficking became actionable.

Confirming the rescue operation, an official of NAPTIP disclosed that the girls who were aged between 14 years and 17 years, hailed from Ilorin, Oshogbo, Ibadan all in South West and Niger State in the North.
It was further disclosed that two members of the trafficking ring responsible for the illegal trafficking venture have been arrested while the mastermind is at large though an official insisted that operatives were closing in on him.
The official said, “The girls were recruited by a private company named ‘Protectime Services Nig. Ltd. for onward trafficking to Saudi Arabia and Dubai for prostitution”.
He added that one of the vehicles of the company with its logo was also seized during the operation.
The venue of the arrest was given as Capitol Suites and Hotels, Phase 3 Area in Gwagwalada District of Abuja.
