The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) welfare flight has transported 348 passengers into and out of the Theatre of Operation HADIN KAI in the North-East as part of efforts to facilitate troop welfare and personnel movement.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the first welfare flight for November 2026 was conducted on Nov. 5 using a chartered ValueJet aircraft.

A total of 175 passengers were transported into the Operation HADIN KAI theatre, while 173 others were moved out of the theatre.
The movement was conducted without any reported hitch.

With the latest flight, the cumulative number of personnel and passengers transported into and out of the theatre under the welfare flight arrangement has reached 36,539.

The initiative forms part of the Nigerian Army’s efforts to support personnel welfare, ease movement and sustain troop morale among officers and soldiers deployed in the North-East operational theatre.

The regular air movement also provides an important logistical support mechanism for personnel serving in the counter-insurgency campaign.
